The Bar Is The One Thing A Backyard Wedding Is Missing
A backyard wedding already has the two things venues charge the most for: the setting and the permission to do it your way. What it is missing is a real bar. Not a folding table with a cooler under it, and not a cousin pouring wine from a box. The Compass trailer rolls onto the lawn with a wood paneled interior, a stainless counter, neon behind the bartenders, and a signature menu written around the two of you. Then it pours cocktail hour and the reception from one spot that happens to be the most photographed corner of the yard.
The trailer has spent a season learning backyards: a backyard party with ground mats and congratulations balloons, a milestone party by the pool, and the launch party that started it all. The wedding bar service page covers the full wedding offering. This page is about the backyard version, which is the one that saves the most and photographs the best.
Flowers on the counter, the menu board out front, neon behind the bartenders. The trailer dressed for a wedding.
What The Trailer Brings
A Signature Menu For The Two Of YouHis and hers cocktails, a crowd favorite, a sparkling option for the toast, and a zero proof pour that does not feel like a consolation prize. Designed together, printed on the board.
The Shopping ListCompass runs BYOB. You buy the bottles at retail from a list sized to your guest count and menu, and we bring every mixer, juice, garnish, cup, and bag of ice. Leftovers stay with you.
Bartenders Dressed For ItProfessional bartenders who run the bar from setup through last call, so no one in either family works the wedding.
Self Contained On Any LawnPower, water, lighting, and ground protection all ride on the trailer. It sets up in about an hour and leaves the yard the way it found it.
In New Jersey, mobile bars operate as a service: you purchase the alcohol and we handle everything else. For a backyard wedding that usually means real savings against a catered bar package, because you pay retail for bottles instead of a per drink markup, and the backyard wedding bar checklist walks through exactly what to buy, and the alcohol calculator gives you the numbers in thirty seconds.
Where It Parks
Lawn, patio, driveway, side yard. The trailer needs a flat spot about two parking spaces long and a route in from the street, and we confirm placement from photos before you book. It has set up on pavers beside a picket fence in Manasquan, on grass at a turf complex in Toms River, and in a Howell fire hall parking lot. Across Ocean County, Monmouth County, Princeton, and Red Bank, a backyard that fits a tent fits the trailer.
It starts with your date, your yard, and your guest count. We design the menu together, send the shopping list, and do a placement check from photos or a quick visit. On the day the trailer arrives before your vendors, sets up quietly, and is polished and pouring when the first guest finds the bar. Cocktail hour runs on the signature menu while photos happen, the full bar carries the reception, and the trailer breaks down after last call without anyone noticing. If you are weighing it against a caterer's bar, the honest comparison lays out the tradeoffs.
Check Your Wedding Date
Thirty seconds now, then a real conversation about the menu, the yard, and the day.
Questions, Answered
Usually not. The trailer is its own structure with an awning, lighting, and a covered serving window. If the forecast calls for real rain, Compass can provide a tent for a small additional fee, and we will work with you on placement or rescheduling. If you are tenting the dinner, the trailer parks at the edge so the bar line never crosses the dance floor.
A good rule is five to six drinks per guest for a five hour reception, weighted toward cocktail hour and the first two hours of dancing. We size the shopping list to your exact guest count and menu, and the backyard wedding bar checklist walks through the math.
That is the standard backyard wedding booking: a signature menu at cocktail hour while photos happen, then the full bar through the reception. The trailer stays in one spot and the menu shifts with the evening.
The trailer carries its own power and water, so the house provides nothing. Ground protection mats go down under the wheels and the serving area so the lawn looks the same on Monday as it did on Friday.
Peak season Saturdays from May through October book six to twelve months out, and the fall dates go first. If the date is set, check it now.
Bartender only service starts at $550. Trailer packages are quoted to your date, location, guest count, and hours, so send your date and we will price your exact event. Because Compass runs BYOB, the alcohol is a separate, retail priced purchase you make from our shopping list.
Compass is a small local team, so we handle cancellations and date changes case by case. Reach out as early as you can and we will work with you.
Your Date Is Going To Go Fast
Backyard weddings book on the same Saturdays as every venue in the state. Tell us the date and the yard and we will take it from there.
