The Party Was The Prize

This one started as a giveaway. Compass put a free themed backyard pour up for grabs, and on August 22 the trailer rolled into the winner's yard to pay it off properly: a wizard themed party, capes and cloaks encouraged, with a menu board that read Welcome Wizards and Witches.

A giveaway is easy to run and easy to phone in. The winning move is treating the prize pour like a full booking, because the yard fills up with people who have never stood at the trailer before, and every one of them is a future host watching how the bar runs.

One Potion On The Menu

The menu ran exactly one drink, and it earned the whole page to itself: the Polyjuice Potion. Butterfly pea tea, housemade mint syrup, ginger beer, and fresh lime juice, paired with vodka. The trick is in the tea. Butterfly pea brews a deep inky blue, and the second the lime juice hits it, the acidity flips the color toward violet right there in the cup.

The menu's fine print said sip carefully, you never know who you will become, but the real magic was watching guests order a second one just to see the change again. No food coloring, no gimmick syrup: just an ingredient that behaves like a potion when a bartender builds it in the right order.

Capes At The Counter

The dress code carried its weight. Velvet capes, a cloak spangled with moons and stars, house colors around necks, and the trailer's warm wood and neon holding the middle of it all like the village pub the theme deserved. The line at the serving window looked like a sorting ceremony with better drinks.

Capes at the counter: the dress code showed up and so did the line.

One Drink, Done Right

There is a menu design lesson hiding in this party. A single signature drink, built theatrical and poured fast, can carry an entire event better than a six cocktail spread. It keeps the line moving, it gives every guest the same shared moment, and it turns the drink into the thing people talk about on the way home. We have built menus around street signs and fantasy football drafts, and the signature menu guide breaks down how the naming and pairing work.

Costume Season Is Coming

A wizard party in August is really a preview of the best theme stretch of the year. September and October mean Halloween parties, costume birthdays, and spooky season backyards, and a bar that can make a drink change color belongs at every one of them. Private party dates in the fall are some of the easiest bookings on our calendar, and if you want a potion of your own on the board, say the word.

Wizard Party Questions

Real ingredients, not food coloring. Butterfly pea tea brews a deep blue, and the moment citrus hits it the acidity flips the color toward purple. Build it in front of the guest and the drink transforms in their hand, which is exactly what a potion should do.
That is our favorite assignment. This party ran a single signature potion; other events have had cocktails named after street signs and full football play sheets. Tell us the theme and we will design the menu, the pairings, and the board to match.
Often it is the strongest move. One well designed signature drink keeps the line fast, gives the party a centerpiece, and still leaves room for beer, wine, and standards behind the bar. It also photographs better than a crowded menu.
You do. In New Jersey, mobile bars operate as a service: you purchase the alcohol from a shopping list we size to your menu and guest count, and we handle the trailer, bartenders, mixers, ice, garnishes, and service.
